Virtual Environments

Installing a package for one research project can otherwise change the packages used by another. A virtual environment gives a project its own package installation directory. This lesson creates an environment, selects its interpreter and installs recorded dependencies. Reproducible environments explains the additional records needed to recreate a result.
Learning objectives. By the end of this note you should be able to create, activate, verify and remove a virtual environment and install through the selected interpreter.

In this lesson

  2. Isolation is not reproducibility by itself
  3. Select the interpreter before installing
