Chapter Lead (Executive Manager), AI & General Model Validation
A leadership role in a bank's AI and general model validation team, which gives independent challenge to the group's most important ML and AI models. You lead data scientists across Australia and India while staying close to the technical work.

- Lead and develop a chapter of data scientists
- Plan and deliver the chapter's validation engagements
- Direct validation tooling and methods development
- Challenge GenAI, agentic and traditional ML models at depth
- Engage senior stakeholders, model owners and internal audit

- Leading multidisciplinary data science teams
- Deep knowledge of GenAI and agentic architectures
- Advanced Python with Git and CI/CD
- Traditional ML such as random forests and XGBoost
- Assessing AI risks and monitoring
- Stakeholder management
Preferred
- Model risk governance knowledge
- Fine-tuning transformers
- SQL, R or TypeScript
- LangChain, PyTorch or SageMaker experience
- AI coding agents
- Education
- Degree in statistics, data science, computer science, actuarial science, engineering or similar, or equivalent industry experience
- Experience
- Proven team leadership and hands-on GenAI and data science experience
- Languages and tools
How to prepare
- Build and evaluate a small LLM agent, then write up its risks, failure modes and monitoring needs
- Study validation methods for tree-based ML models
- Practise reproducing an evaluation pipeline from unfamiliar code
