6-Month Internship – Trading

A six-month internship on a Brevan Howard trading team in Tel Aviv, building systematic signals from time series and text data. It works directly with front-office staff and portfolio managers.

What you’d work on

Build data pipelines that feed models and signals for a portfolio manager
Extract statistically robust patterns from time series and text such as news and social media
Apply statistics, machine learning and NLP to candidate signals
Use LLMs for coding and research and learn how they handle data sources
Support the pod with research and analysis

Studying maths, physics, computer science, statistics or engineering
Statistics and time series analysis
Hands-on machine learning (regression, trees, neural networks)

How to prepare

Build a Python NLP pipeline that scores news headlines and test whether the score predicts returns
Practise time series fundamentals: stationarity, autocorrelation, forecasting and cross-validation
Fit regression, tree and small neural network models on a financial dataset and compare them
Learn basic signal processing ideas such as filtering and spectral analysis
Document what you found as a short research note
