Who is the Governor of the Bank of England?
Short answer
Andrew Bailey has been Governor since March 2020 (check this is still current). The Governor chairs the Monetary Policy Committee, which sets Bank Rate, as well as the Financial Policy Committee. Earlier governors include Mervyn King (2003–2013) and Mark Carney (2013–2020); interviewers expect you to know the current name.
