Handling a broken feature on your television

Question

Suppose one of the functions on your television suddenly stops working. Walk me through what you would do.

Short answer

Show structured troubleshooting. Check the simplest causes first (power, cables, remote batteries, settings, a restart), isolate whether the fault is in the input, the remote or the set, then consult the manual or support and weigh repair against replacement cost. Oddball questions test calm, logical problem-solving, so narrate your process rather than hunting for a clever answer.
