A colleague should be able to check how your result was produced. This topic teaches tests, repeatable execution, environment records, code history and database queries. Each tool protects a different part of the research process. Together they make a calculation easier to rerun and review.
By the end of this note you should be able to test a small calculation, choose between a notebook and script, record an environment, commit a coherent Git change and query a small SQL database.
