A senior research position at a machine-learning-driven investment manager, leading projects on market prediction and portfolio optimisation. You would also mentor others and see models through to live trading.

How to prepare

Build a full ML research pipeline from data to out-of-sample portfolio evaluation
Study portfolio optimisation under noise and transaction costs
Practise writing clear technical research documentation
Review recent ML-for-finance papers and be ready to critique them
