Junior Quantitative Trader – APAC

A trading seat in the Hong Kong office of a proprietary firm, working in a team that trades mispriced securities. The focus is on running execution and risk for complex portfolios and judging how strategies perform.

What you’d work on

Manage trade execution and risk on a portfolio of equity and option positions
Run post-trade reviews of P&L, execution quality and strategy performance
Adjust models and parameters as market conditions shift
Implement strategies so they trade at low cost
Price derivatives as part of daily decision making

What they ask for

Required

Degree in a quantitative field
Python, C++, Java, VBA, R, Matlab or Ruby
About three years of equity or options trading
Experience with automated trading systems
Attention to detail
Calm problem solving under pressure

Education: Degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering or a hard science.
Experience: 3+ years of relevant equity or options trading

How to prepare

Build a post-trade analysis notebook that splits P&L into edge, slippage and market moves
Practise option pricing and risk measures such as delta, gamma and vega
Learn how execution algorithms work and how to measure transaction costs
Understand how Hong Kong and wider Asian equity and option markets are structured
