Research Associate, Commodities Data Analyst

A data analyst role embedded on Bridgewater's Asia commodities desk, owning the data that feeds systematic strategies and fundamental balance models. It sits in the Asia Strategies department and works directly with investors and developers.

What you’d work on

How to prepare

Build a pipeline that turns futures contract data into a continuous curve, with roll logic and spreads
Study commodity fundamentals: stocks, flows, seasonality and balance tables, especially for Chinese markets
Practise SQL and a cloud warehouse such as Snowflake for time-series data
Write checks that detect gaps, outliers and structural breaks in a dataset
Learn the basics of Scala and why teams use it in production
