2027 Summer Internship – Systematic Trading Technology Software Engineer

A summer internship in the technology team that runs the live trading platform and market data stack for Brevan Howard's systematic portfolio managers. It is a software engineering role close to the trading desks.

What you’d work on

Work on capturing, normalising and delivering market data to strategies
Build tools and interfaces that portfolio managers and traders use daily

How to prepare

Build a small Java service that consumes a market data feed and publishes normalised ticks
Learn how order lifecycles work (new, ack, fill, cancel) and model one in code
Add unit tests, logging and metrics to a project, and practise reading production-style logs
Study concurrency and latency basics in Java
Get comfortable with Linux, Git and SQL for everyday engineering work
