Two indeterminate limits via L'Hopital

Question

Evaluate (a) lim⁡x→∞exx2\displaystyle\lim_{x\to\infty}\frac{e^x}{x^2} and (b) lim⁡x→0+x2ln⁡x\displaystyle\lim_{x\to0^+}x^2\ln x.

Short answer

(a) +∞+\infty; (b) 00. (a) Apply L'Hopital twice: ex/x2→ex/(2x)→ex/2→∞e^x/x^2\to e^x/(2x)\to e^x/2\to\infty. (b) Rewrite as ln⁡xx−2\frac{\ln x}{x^{-2}}; one application gives 1/x−2x−3=−x22→0\frac{1/x}{-2x^{-3}}=-\tfrac{x^2}{2}\to0.
