Talking about the compilers you have used
Question
Which C++ compilers and toolchains have you used in practice?
Short answer
Name the ones you genuinely know and say what you did with them. Typical answers mention GCC, Clang and Microsoft Visual C++ (perhaps Intel's compiler), with concrete detail: build systems, optimisation flags, warnings you enable, debugging and portability issues between them. Interviewers are checking real hands-on experience, so do not list tools you cannot discuss.
