Selling a structured note to investors
Question
How would you go about marketing a financial product, for example a structured note?
Short answer
Start from the client, not the product. Identify the target investors and their needs (yield, capital protection, market view), explain the payoff in plain terms with scenarios, and be explicit about risks, costs, issuer credit and liquidity. Choose channels (private banks, advisers, institutions), price it competitively, and ensure suitability and regulatory compliance.
