Responding when told another role suits you
Question
The interviewer suggests you might be better suited to a different kind of role. How do you reply?
Short answer
Treat it as a test of conviction. Ask what prompts the view, then calmly explain with evidence why your skills and motivation fit this role, while showing openness to feedback. A defensive reaction or immediate agreement both signal weak commitment.
